Amelia Alternative for WordPress

Looking for an Amelia alternative? Roohsites Appointment Booking is a simpler WordPress booking plugin for appointments: unlimited staff in the free version, and one Pro plan with payments, reminders and Google Calendar at the same price every year.

Checked on October 31, 2026 from each plugin's WordPress.org page and pricing page. Prices are regular (not sale) prices in US dollars. These plugins run sales often and change their plans, so check their sites before you buy.

Roohsites Appointment Booking vs Amelia at a glance

Amelia's free version

Amelia's free version, Amelia Lite, takes online payments through Square only. Its WordPress.org page says that some integrations, unlimited employees, custom notifications, reminders and multilingual support are not available in Lite.

Roohsites Appointment Booking's free version has no staff or service limit, so a salon with five stylists or a tutoring centre with twenty classes can take bookings without paying. Online payments, reminders and calendar sync are in Roohsites Appointment Booking Pro.

Amelia pricing vs Roohsites Appointment Booking

Amelia: Four plans (Starter, Standard, Pro, Elite), yearly or lifetime: see their pricing page. Their pricing page advertises up to 50% off the first year.

Roohsites Appointment Booking Pro: $79 a year for 1 site, $149 for 5 sites, $299 for unlimited. Same price every year: what you pay in year one is what you pay in year two.

Three years, one website (regular prices): Roohsites Appointment Booking Pro $237 (1 site); Amelia Depends on plan: see their pricing page.

When Amelia is the better choice

Amelia is a polished booking plugin with events and tickets, packages, shared resources (rooms or equipment), Zoom, Google Meet and Outlook integrations, WhatsApp reminders and a mobile app. Its paid plans take PayPal, Stripe, Mollie, Razorpay and Square, and come in four tiers, yearly or lifetime.

• You run events with tickets. Amelia handles event tickets, waiting lists for events and packages of services.
• You share rooms or equipment. Amelia's resources let staff share rooms, chairs or equipment so they can't be double-booked.
• You want a mobile app. Amelia lists a mobile app on its pricing page. Roohsites Appointment Booking works in the browser on any phone, but has no app.

Why people choose Roohsites Appointment Booking instead

• Unlimited staff in the free version. Amelia Lite limits employees; unlimited employees need a paid plan.
• More than Square for free. Amelia Lite takes payments through Square only. Roohsites Appointment Booking Pro takes Razorpay (UPI), Stripe and PayPal.
• Reminders by email, SMS or WhatsApp are in Roohsites Appointment Booking Pro; Amelia Lite doesn't include reminders.
• One price every year. Amelia advertises discounts on the first year; Roohsites Appointment Booking Pro renews at the price you first paid.
• Simple to run. Roohsites Appointment Booking focuses on appointments with a team, without the event, resource and package settings you may not need.

What you get with Roohsites Appointment Booking

• Free, with unlimited staff and services: a three-step booking form (Booking form block or [rsab_booking] shortcode), a calendar that only shows free times, email confirmations, a secure cancel link for customers, approval or auto-confirm, and WordPress's privacy tools for customer data requests.
• Roohsites Appointment Booking Pro: online payments or deposits with Razorpay (UPI, cards, netbanking, wallets), Stripe or PayPal, confirmed instantly by webhook and refunded automatically when you cancel; reminders by email, SMS or WhatsApp; two-way Google Calendar sync for each staff member; a drag-and-drop admin calendar; a "My bookings" page where customers reschedule or cancel without an account; breaks and special dates; service extras, coupons, extra questions and branded emails.
• Pricing: $79 a year for one site, $149 for five and $299 for unlimited. Renewals cost the same as your first year. 14-day free trial (no card) and a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you stop renewing, Pro keeps working; only updates and support stop.

How to switch from Amelia to Roohsites Appointment Booking

1. Install the free Roohsites Appointment Booking plugin next to Amelia. They don't interfere with each other.
2. Add your services (name, duration, price, buffer) and staff (photo, services, weekly hours, days off) under Roohsites Appointment Booking. Roohsites Appointment Booking doesn't import Amelia data, so this is done by hand; for most small businesses it takes 10 to 20 minutes.
3. On your booking page, replace the Amelia form with the Booking form block, or the [rsab_booking] shortcode in a page builder.
4. Keep Amelia active until its last upcoming bookings have passed, then deactivate it.
5. Need payments, reminders or Google Calendar? Start the 14-day Pro trial and connect Razorpay, Stripe or PayPal under Roohsites Appointment Booking → Pro settings.
